SCOPE OF WORK:
The Psychologist’s responsibility is to conduct Structured and Focused Psycho Social Support sessions with groups of children aged between 6 and 17 years old in Bekaa. The psychologist will be working closely with the Child Protection Coordinator as well as with the Adolescent Friendly Space Supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in trainings on the Focused Psycho Social Support (FPSS) Curriculum and the Structured Psycho Social Support (SPSS) curriculums;
- Maintain and update database related to conducted activities in each location;
- Provide FPSS and SPSS activities to children, adolescents and caregivers based on specialized developed tools including the Citadel of Protection toolkit, SRHR toolkit, life skills, FPSS Curriculum, etc.;
- Conduct first assessment forms in each location identified by the outreach focal points, when needed
- Maintain and update database related to the first assessments
- Stick with the annual plan set with outreach focal point and Adolescent Friendly Space Supervisor
- Coordinate with services providers in Central/ West Bekaa
- Raise logistics and technical challenges
- Provide schedule of activities on weekly/ monthly basis;
- Fill reports upon completion of each cycle of activities and upon request according to the UNICEF reporting system;
- Identify gaps regarding practices, knowledge and attitude of community members and provide necessary support;
- Refer cases received while conducting activities or from committee members and follow up on their referral;
- Maintain good relations with local implementing actors, local authorities and other international and local stakeholders;
- Coordinate with Outreach Focal Points and Adolescent Friendly Space Supervisor and M&E consultant and provide them with needed information and database and documents related to monitoring activities;
- Maintain a database on referred cases and their follow up;
- Attend internal and external coordination meetings when required.
SKILLS:
Proven experience in providing sessions on GBV and Child Protection risks;
- Knowledge of GBV and Child Protection concepts;
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work;
- Attention to detail and problem solving skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong organizational and planning skills;
- Team work skills.
PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS:
While working on a KAFA project, it is required to sign KAFA’s Child Protection Policy and Code of Conduct.
