Street-Based Children Consultant

SUMMARY

SAWA is looking for a highly qualified professional who is experienced in working with street-based children/adolescents who have faced ongoing challenging. 

RESPONSIBILITIES, MAIN DUTIES AND REPORTING:

1. Establish and conduct a community assessment tool and analysis
2. Establish and conduct children assessment tool and analysis
3. Conduct the assessment and analysis
4. Establish and conduct Parents assessment tool
5. Conduct training for street children and the assessments
6. Establish New M&E Tools (Registration, Trend, consent form: activity, picture and transposition, observation toolkit, pre and post test …...).
7. Conduct Focus and community Based PSS Trainings
8. Conduct training depend on the need of the staff
9. Monitoring and Conduct the activities on-the-job coaching
10. Identifying the needs, challenges, and opportunities of the staff

REPORTS TO: 

Project Manager

EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND:

• Technical diploma or degree in social work or related degree preferred;
• Experience in conducting psychosocial activities for children;
• Proven experience working in challenging situation;
• Experience in working with children (mandatory);
• Experience in working with street and working children preferable
• Experience in working for an NGO/ humanitarian organization preferable
• Experience working with Syrian
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience of implementing child protection programs preferably psychosocial activities, social work or case management, in humanitarian or development settings;

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Good capacity to interact with members of the team and different communities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English
• Ability to work on the street supporting psychosocial activities for street and working children;

EMPLOYEMENT CONDITIONS

• Contract duration: 22 days from May to Dec 2018;
• Required Starting Date: May 2018;
