Head Coach- Sports for Development program

The Head Coach reports directly to the Project Officer (PO) and is responsible for the support in implementation of Right To Play project activities. He/she is also responsible for monitoring the project for quality of delivery and effectiveness.

II. RESPONSIBILITIES  

In accordance with Right To Play (RTP) approved policies and procedures, the head coach will be responsible of a selected number of duties, depending on their interests and qualifications. Specific responsibilities for each head coach after one-on-one discussion would be assigned with percentages of their time for each task.

 

Activity coordination and implementation : 35%

  • Supports in organizing and conducting special events activities, play days and sports tournaments (and leading when possible), while ensuring participation of partners, children/young people and stakeholders.
  • Organizes and facilitates some training sessions and participates in the training as required.
  • Assists in the logistical arrangements for training workshops and events. Excluding getting offers and dealing with suppliers and financial tasks
  • Supports in assessing training needs of Coaches, Junior Leaders, teachers and partners, recommends the suitable intervention and works with them to develop training schedules.
  • In coordination with Coaches evaluates the center logistical needs
  • Technical Support to Coaches in developing their activity plans and schedules, encourages their initiatives, facilitates their activities and reports to the field facilitator.
  • Assists field facilitator in handling equipment management and distribution in the assigned community as required.​

Monitoring and reporting: 50%

  • Participates in workshops/training to partners and Coaches in the quantitative data collection tools and qualitative monitoring tools and ensures accurate and timely submission of quantitative and qualitative data to RTP team.
  • Conducts regular field visits with partners and Coaches to follow up and provide support as needed. This also includes recommending coaches for certification
  • Support in documentation and reporting on impact
  • Ensures partners and Coaches are in compliance with Child Safeguarding Policy.

Support in establishing and maintaining partnerships:5%

  • Supports in identifying community needs, participates in the selection of communities and partners to be included in RTP program in the respective Field.
  • Represents RTP in the project location and relevant forums.
  • Coordinates with partners, specifically for events and activity implementation, only when recommended by PO.

Communication tasks:5%

  • Develops and submits  to FF success stories
  • Ensures coverage of activities and events (Photos and/or videos)
  • Ensures implementation of visibility procedures in offices and during activities/visits to partners

 EXPERIENCE 

1 year experience working in project implementation and facilitation. Preferred sports backgrouond 

AVAILABILITY/COMMITMENT

Minimum expected 15 hours/week for minimum availability of 1 year.
