Humanitarian Assistance Intern (Unpaid)

The intern will help IRAP’s legal staff and humanitarian assistance coordinator to refer clients for humanitarian assistance, to research types of assistance available in the community, and to track referrals.

Possible Responsibilities:

- Monitor status of ongoing referrals and enter data into IRAP’s database system.

- Conduct research on new NGOs serving the refugee community, especially, new medical, legal, and psychosocial campaigns.

- Communicate with IRAP clients and potential clients, including participating in screening process to identify refugees in need of resettlement to a safe third country.

- Monitor the local press as well as government websites for important news related to the refugee community and refugee protection in Lebanon.

- Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- Interest in refugee and human rights and a passion for humanitarian assistance

- Some knowledge of humanitarian assistance and emergency relief in Lebanon

- Highly organized and motivated, able to multitask, and has excellent time management skills

- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to maintain patience and professionalism in stressful situations

- Comfortable working with diverse populations

- Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced and high-pressure work environment

- Fluency in oral and written English and Arabic

- Familiar with the use of social media apps (Facebook & WhatsApp) and strong Internet research skills.
