Senior FPSS Case Worker Assistant (National Contract)

About the job

The Senior Focused Psychosocial Support Case Worker Assistant will be responsible to provide focused psychosocial support to children and caregivers who have experienced or are at high risk of experiencing a child protection or GBV violation, while building the capacity of and empower the community to provide vulnerable children and caregivers with community based PSS.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

• Ensure the delivery of FPSS in line with global and national inter-agency SOPs and standards. 

• Identify safe spaces to provide Focused PSS (FPSS) that adhere to the quality checklists for center-based and outreach activities agreed at the inter-agency level. 

• Adapt the location and timing of sessions, content and approach of the focused PSS program to the needs and availability of the participants including children with special needs.  

• Actively identify the most vulnerable: children at high risk of or engaged in child labor and/or early marriage and their caregivers and ensure their enrollment in focused PSS programs. 

• Actively ensure referrals from community-based protection activities and case management to focused PSS 

• Support participants to provide feedback on focused PSS through the SDQ. 

• Closely coordinate with the CMCBO, CP and GBV caseworkers to ensure the case plan is taken into consideration, to tailor focused PSS intervention to the needs of each child and caregiver. 

• Maintain positive relations with implementing actors, local authorities and other international and stakeholders. 

• Perform any other duties relating to the nature of the job as directed by the PSS and CM capacity building Officer and the Protection manager.

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have a Bachelor in Social work, Counseling, Psychology or other related field. Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required

• 3 years of experience in delivering case management to CP cases required and in provision of Psychosocial support activities with children and caregivers 

• Trained on CP case management National SoP and a good knowledge of CP case management principles 

• Excellent knowledge of child protection,  GBV,  PSS basic principles, child development and adult learning techniques. 

• Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination, safety and inclusion of CP and GBV cases at all times  

• Excellent gender and age appropriate facilitation skills, child development and adult learning techniques, and good knowledge of GBV, child protection and PSS basic principles 

• Excellent capacity building, training, coaching and mentoring skills 

• Excellent knowledge of the negative impacts of child labor on child development  and of the worst and other forms of child labor 

• Excellent communication and psychosocial first aid skills 

• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility 

• Fluency in Arabic is a must  

• Computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel)

Desirable

• Comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well 

• Ability to work flexible hours 

• Ability to communicate and write clearly in English is a plus 

• Previous experience in international organizations and humanitarian settings is a plus

We offer

  • Contract length: till the end of December 2018 
  • Level: B+1, equivalent to 1450$ (monthly basic salary) 
  • Duty Station: Akkar 
  • Start date: May 2018
