Monitoring & Evaluation Consultant

Since 2013, KAFA has partnered with UNICEF in a project entitled “Protecting children and adolescents from Gender Based Violence” aiming at enhancing protection of vulnerable children and adolescents affected by the Syrian crisis from GBV (early marriage and sexual abuse) through promoting their right to information by improving their access to adequate services and their awareness on how to protect themselves from GBV.

In 2018, KAFA will continue its partnership with UNICEF in the same project and will include operating an adolescent friendly space in Bekaa for adolescent boys and girls and a support center for children in Beirut, building capacity and working on a community based approach in IS and households through peer to peer education and comities in West and Central Bekaa and SDCs in BML as well as training sessions on GBV in emergencies on a national level.

SCOPE OF WORK:

The M&E officer will work closely with Program teams to track the progress of activities and contribute to staff capacity building initiatives as necessary. 

Duties and  Responsibilities:

  • Revision of existing documents and tools.
  • Development of evaluation forms.
  • Data cleaning and analysis (for ongoing activities).
  • Development of end of project evaluation tools (quantitative and qualitative).
  • Conducting focus group discussions (FGD) to ensure the quality of activities provided, and to verify the accuracy of reported data.
  • Support project/ program staff on ways to properly documents, organize and capture program progress.
  • Monitoring the achievement of trainings in the selected areas, and ensure timely reporting to the project coordinator.
  • Assist the Project Coordinator in negotiating any changes to the project monitoring plan, or indicators and for mid-term and annual reporting.
  • Monitoring and following up progress on various proposals, meetings, reports, working papers etc.
  • Write reports as needed.

SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated ability to train and build capacity of others
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience in a non-governmental organization, and a good knowledge of local context and community in emergencies
  • Good Level of proficiency in Windows Excel and quantitative analysis
  • Strong team spirit

PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS:

While working on a KAFA project, it is required to sign KAFA’s Child Protection Policy.
