Mental Health Professional /psychotherapist

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervision:

Under the regular supervision of the Child Protection Area Officer and the technical support of the Mental Health advisor, the Mental Health Professional/Psychotherapist will:

Participate regularly in group supervision and individual meeting when needed;

Prepare minutes and action points of monthly Mental Health meetings for sharing with Mental Health advisor

Alert Child Protection area officer and Mental Health Professional immediately of urgent threats to children’s health and safety;

Ensure that CP coordinator and MH advisor are updated regularly on all complex cases;

Prepare prior to the Mental Health meetings challenges and updates;

Contribute to the progress file process;

Implementation:

Implement Mental Health activities according to children’s ages and situation and according to specific psychotherapeutic ways and methods;

Feed into the progress reviews for all opened cases along with child and family (when needed and appropriate);

Receive referrals exclusively from case workers for cases exhibiting Mental Health symptoms (as by Mouvement Social Internal Operational Procedures);

Perform psychological assessment for high risk children and child survivors and prioritize interventions according to risk;

Design a therapeutic plan of action that illustrates the approach being used to support the child;

Conduct psychotherapy individual sessions;

Provide psychological support to families and caregivers of high risk children and child survivors when needed;

Coordinate with the social worker and Child Protection Area Officer whenever a family intervention is needed;

Request assistance from Mental Health advisor and Child Protection coordinator when unsure how to respond;

Abide by the Mouvement Social Internal Operational Procedures (IOPs) and guidance/recommendations by MH advisor;

Request material, technical, and logistical support when needed for the services;  

Provide training to Mouvement Social field staff on screening and detecting mental health concerns and referrals;

Contribute to the revision of PSS curricula when needed;

Documentation:

Prepare a patient file that outlines the progress of the therapeutic plan session by session;

Complete all documents, forms and reports according to Data Protection Protocol and Internal Operational Procedures;

Participate in the child progress meeting lead by the Child Protection officer and other multidisciplinary meetings to discuss case plans;

Participate in trainings on confidentiality and data protection protocols;

Alert Child Protection Area Officer and Mental Health advisor of need/revision for additional tools and forms;

Ensure all actions are documented thoroughly and weekly in the progress file and other forms, including observations, actions taken and discussions held with child and family;

Reporting:

Provide weekly input to the Child Protection Area Officer outlining the progress of work that includes number of cases received and Mental Health activities conducted during the week including analysis of trends, challenges and recommendations;

Prepare and share challenges in the data entry and Mental Health system;

REQUIREMENTS:
• Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology (mandatory);
• Formal training in psychotherapy including individual, group and supervision (mandatory);
• Valid profession practicing license (mandatory);
• Minimum of Three years of work experience in Psychotherapy (mandatory);
