Research Assistant

Responsibility

The Research Assistant is responsible for the following:

• Assist in collecting and analyzing data for SANAD’s research studies, under the supervision of the Project an Research Officer
• Assist in identifying and managing priority palliative care and hospice care research plans and projects with the different partners (volunteers, interns, and outsourced researchers)
• Assist in providing the multidisciplinary team with relevant reference material needed to improve SANAD’s support to patients and their families
• Contributing to the development of palliative and hospice care related training material for SANAD’s staff and other key stakeholders in the field
• Supporting SANAD in the development of national palliative care projects

Functions

Under the direction and the supervision of the Projects and Research Officer, the Research Assistant will be working on the following:

Information and Research:

• Assist in developing and monitoring patient data collection and generate patient related statistics
• Report on statistics in official annual reports, presentations and articles
• Assist in developing research plans and projects on palliative and hospice care related topics
• Perform and summarize literature review
• Assist in development of quantitative and qualitative research tools and data collection
• Assist in write up of research proposals and applications for ethical review
• Assist in data analysis (quantitative and qualitative) and write up of articles and reports

Projects, Partnerships and Collaborations:

• Support SANAD in its collaboration with academic institutions on research projects in palliative care
• Support SANAD in developing partnerships with community based organizations on palliative care related projects
• Assist in developing proposals for donors to fund projects and initiatives carried out by SANAD
