Field Operations Officer (FOO)
The field operation officer shall
In coordination and in support to the OM the FOO shall assist in provide technical oversight of relevant field operations of the project. The FOO shall have a special focus on:
Development of technical contribution and suggest changes to LAMiNDA SOP and LMAC/RMAC National Mine Action Standards. FOO shall ensure that all operational equipment are working and has the best quality possible. FOO shall initiate necessary training, as required in agreed locations and following LAMiNDA approved training courses. The FOO shall be responsible to ensure that the internal QA system is followed and has the standard required.
- BASIC FUNCTION:
To assure and ensure the quality of work and operational processes of LAMiNDA Battle Area and Mine Clearance teams and adherence to and compliance with LAMiNDA Standard Operational Procedures.
2. DUTIES PERFORMED:
- Be responsible for the field monitoring and QA of all BAC/MMC teams to ensure that all procedures are performed in accordance with the LAMiNDA standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Prepare every Friday, a joint weekly QA visit plan, to be presented and approved by the Operations manager. The daily adjustments can be made, based on actual needs, but the amendment of the plan should also be made. Based on this plan daily QA visits are executed to the agreed teams.
Prepares on daily basis internal QA operational reports for teams visited and archives them properly after having them checked and approved by Operations Manager. Any agreed corrective action for the team(s) or individual (as agreed upon in the meeting between OPS Manager and FOO Field Operations Officer) should also be reflected in the daily QA report.
- Checks the daily reports for the teams he visited that they, prepared by site supervisors and with his signatures ensures that he QC-ed them, before delivering them to data entry officer to have them entered in the database.
Checks that the information written by site supervisors on the white boards for the teams he visited and which are specified for each team are accurate and final.
- Performs periodical assessments for the site supervisors and Team Leaders as agreed with Operations manager, and delivers them to Operations manager for discussion and follow-up action.
- Work closely together with Site Supervisors and Team Leaders on day to day planning of the teams’ work. Any changes to the plan need to be also approved by the Ops Manager
- Stand out as a good example and role model for all the teams.
- Daily tasked by Ops manager and shall report daily according to routine in operations.
- Produce proper records & reports on all aspects of operation activities according to demands of LAMiNDA OPS.
Monitor daily operational and safety routines and ascertain that protective equipment and operational instruments and tools is used correctly by all teams.
- Ensure that all internal QA routines are followed and report any incidents to Ops manager.
Assist in solving problems in operations and advice Ops manager if necessary changes should be implemented. No changes should be initiated before agreed with Operations manager.
- Be directly responsible accountable for the equipment issued to him/her. He/she must ensure that his/her equipment is accounted for, secure and in working order
- Participate in the operational training and quality before, during and after the operational phase.
- Be updated with information related to UXO/ERW.
- Carry out any instructions given to him by Operations manager expediently and in a safe manner.
