Part time Psychosocial Worker

Responsibilities:

• Provide one on one and group counselling for children and parents as needed
• Identify children with further psychosocial needs and make recommendations for appropriate interventions
• Identify children in need of referral to other partners
• Collaborate closely with teachers to organize psychosocial activities for beneficiaries
• Encourage and stimulate full participation of the planned socio/recreational activities
• Develop and complete relevant assessments
• Follow -up with parents through home visits
• Ensure, promote and facilitate that the principles of child protection and child participation are integrated into all project activities
• Ensure strict adherence to ADRA Lebanon Child Protection Policies at all times, including respect for confidentiality and child centred approach, acting in the best interests of the child
• Provide reports of activities
• Attend relevant internal and external meetings

Qualifications:

Required:

• At least two years relevant work experience

• Ability to engage with children in an open manner, maintain confidentiality and respect
• Positive and professional attitude, able to organize, maintain composure and prioritize work under pressure, work overtime when necessary and be able to coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
• Ability to work as a member of a team.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, listening and communication skills
• Good written and oral English skills.

Preferred:

• Degree in  psychology,  social work or related field

• INGO or NGO experience
• Experience working with refugee population
• Ability  write clear and concise reports in English
• Skilled at using basic computer programs
