The Livelihoods Officer will be based in Akkar as a member of the Cash and Livelihoods department. The LivelihoodsOfficer will be under the direct supervision of the Area Livelihoods Manager and will play a key role in implementing the FFA/FFT project in Akkar. S/he will work to ensure the Livelihood intervention is ongoing with highest technical quality, activities and reporting are completed on time, and that problems and challenges are identified proactively and solution provided in a feasible manner.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
• Act as the main liaison between communities, municipalities and the DRC office in all program-related issues; maintain good relationships with participants, and professional relationships with local stakeholders and authorities.
• Under the direction of the Area Livelihoods Manager, daily supervise the Livelihoods team in Akkar while ensuring the finalization of their plan for the project timeline, and ensure that the technical aspects of the project are running in accordance with the project’s objectives and DRC’s strategies.
• Ensure strong engagement with participants targeted in DRC livelihoods program and make sure their enquiries are answered in a timely manner.
• Work closely with theShelter and Infrastructure (S&I)and Protection departments to support coordination between various project activities, as well as coordination between communities and municipalities in Akkar in order to ensure integrated programming and streamlined communication.
• Work closely with operational staff, specifically procurement team,to ensure proper organization and timely follow up on order requests, payment requests and assets.
• Act as internal focal point for the distribution and monitoring of project materials, equipment and refreshments and ensure that the purchased supplies are tracked and used properly by the beneficiaries, workers and municipalities on field.
• Supervise the recruited trainers and lead the implementation of the sessions, Food for Training and complementary trainings.
• Work closely with the monitoring and evaluation department to facilitate monitoring and evaluation activities to ensure program implementation is on track and of highest quality.
• Assist in the development of training/ awareness raising materials, organize and conduct trainings for program participants and stakeholders.
• Lead the project participants outreach and registration exercise using DRC and donor tools and approaches.
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to have a minimum of a Bachelor University degree preferably related to international development, economics, or business. Moreover, we also expect the following:
Required
3 years’ minimum experience with INGOs in Livelihoods, Cash, or related sectors, which would include experience with the following activities:
• Implementation of Food for asset and Food for Training, skills development, employability trainings programs
• Implementation of Cash for Work Projects integrated in Community Support Projects
• Cash delivery mechanism and modalities
• Conducting market assessments.
• Community mobilization
• Training and facilitation for staff and community groups
• Experience in managing teams
• Experience providing on the job coaching and mentoring and building capacity of staff
• Good in English Language and Fluent in Arabic

- Monthly Basic Salary: 1650 USD
