Job Role

 

Role Overview:

 

Ensuring coordination with schools, volunteers and related stakeholders, and quality implementation of the project’s activities

 

Areas of Responsibilities

Key Activities

Enhaching youth leadership  

  • Ensure Program operation in the targeted location is operationalized strategically as planned and agreed with line manager. Regular communication with line manager is a must.
  • Ensuring coordinating with school adminstaration and updating them on the planned activities
  • Mobilizing youth volunteers for summer schools and the promoting rights in schools tool.
  • Ensuring good relation with and among the volunteers.  
  • Following up with the volunteers and providing technical support and coaching when needed.
  • Ensuring all needed logistics for the summer schools and activities implementation.
  • Management of the summer schools
  • Participating in the ToTs and ensuring learning objectives are met.
  • Following up on the school initiatives implementation in collaboration with related stakeholders.
  • Ensuring coordination with the Democratic Women Gathering in the advocacy campaign in Bekaa and the implementation of the related outcomes.
  • Ensuring coordination between all the partners when needed.
  • Create strong network with the local actors in the field.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports as required from the line manager.
  • Ensure all programme information is transparent so all internal and external stakeholders possess mutual understanding.
  • Track the progress of the programme and intervene when necessary to ensure speed and quality.
  • Assure AA values, principles and HRBA is mainstreamed in the programme.
  • Provide required information to communication and other units of AA ARI as mutually agreed in advance.

Networking and participation in external platforms & Forums

  • Represent ActionAid and program partners in meetings with local Government agencies and local stakeholders (as appropriate and agreed with management)
  • Ensure effective coordination with other agencies working in the program location.

Line Management

 

  • Directly line manages young volunteers working in the program location.
  • Ensure the above mentioned individual’s capacity, knowledge and skills is in place to deliver their assigned role and responsibilities
  • Manage basic HR requirements in accordance with ActionAid-ARI HROD policies;
  •  

Policy Advocacy & Campaigns

  • Provide evidence from the ground for policy work at national levels.
  • Ensure local level policy advocacy & campaigns work is community women and youth driven.
  • For wider solidarity at local level encourage linking of youth groups / communities to work together on common issues.

  • Other responsibilities as requested by Line Manager

Person Specification

Education & Certifications

  • Relevant academic degree, preferably Bachelors in development, management or social studies.

Essential  Experience Knowledge and Skills

  • At least 2 years experience working on youth programs
  • Have grounded understanding of the educational system in Lebanon for Lebanese and Syrian refugees .
  • Have grounded understanding of the refugee crisis in the Lebanon.
  • Able to communicate effectively with communities and local authorities.

Desirable Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • Team building and coordination experience
  • Youth animation experience
  • Excellent coordination/facilitation and communication skills with strong sense of team spirit
  • Good interpersonal communication/negotiation skills both in written/oral Arabic and English
  • Result oriented person; ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure and meeting of deadlines
