The “Youth Citizens of Today” project aims at empowering young people with various skills, concepts, and tools that enable them to identify their needs and priorities, plan and implement youth focused developmental projects, network with their peers and relevant stakeholders, and actively engage in the civic life. The project also encourages young people to engage in structured dialogues with local authorities with an attempt to influence their strategies to become more youth focused.
The scope of the Field Officer position at Masar association is defined in the implementation of the following tasks:
- Attend training workshops organized in the 10 areas of project implementation and preparing briefs;
- Attend project activities in the 10 areas of project implementation;
- Coordinate logistical preps before and during projects’ activities;
- Monitor the implementation of research tools of communal projects planned by “Youth Advocates” in the 10 areas;
- Attend advocacy meetings conducted by “Youth Advocates” with relevant local decision makers;
- Network and coordinate with local stakeholders to boost project visibility and outcomes;
- Review press releases related to project activities that are prepared by “Youth Advocates” before posting;
- Assist in identifying youth participants to join in projects’ activities;
- Attend planning and evaluation meetings with “Youth Advocates” in the 10 areas of project implementation;
- Become knowledgeable of templates and forms used in the frame of the project;
- In charge of data processing related to monitoring and evaluating project activities;
- Assist in administrative work related to the project;
- In charge of the field admin and financial matters;
- Attend the monthly meetings with UNICEF field officers in the areas of project implementation;
- Liaise between the field work and Masar office;
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Holder of a bachelor degree;
- 1 - 2 years of experience in the field;
- Enthusiastic for field work;
- Very good command of Arabic and English: writing and speaking;
- Computer Literate and proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- Adaptability and flexibility with working environment (ready to work over weekends and during evening hours);
- Multi- task, and familiar with working in multi- cultural environment;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Active driver and in possession of own vehicle.
