BID Specialist and OV Focal Point

Roles and Responsibilities:                   

 

Specific tasks as related to BID Specialist’s role:

  • Conducting interviews for children at risk such as injury and disability, physical and sexual violence, and psychosocial distress, physical and mental disorders who might be unaccompanied or separated from their families.
  • Interviewing the family members of the children and gathering the relevant information.
  • Making assessments and writing of the BID.
  • Supporting all activities related to the processing of BID such as many office interviews as needed and home visit.
  • Providing counseling to the children, and responding to queries of the parents regarding the RST procedures and expectations such as decisions of government authorities and UNHCR.
  • Compiling and analyzing information related to the protection incidents.
  • Refer individual cases to case management for appropriate follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to date records related to all work on individual cases.
  • Supervise and monitor the social workers writing of BIAs requested by UNHCR.
  • Communicating closely with UNHCR CP department or protection associate in charge.
  • Training of staff on the BIDs writing.

 

Specific tasks as related to OV Focal Point’s role:

  • Liaise and coordinate with the Outreach Volunteers. (OVs)
  • Ensure that OVs have a full understanding of their responsibilities in referral tasks.
  • Implementing the code of conducts and make sure to respect the confidentiality rule when dealing with refugees and to abide by the guidelines for dealing with sexual and gender-based violence and exploited persons.
  • To be regularly available and reachable outside regular working hours to address emergencies.
  • Giving support and understanding to the OVs.
  • Work with them with sensitivity, and empathy.
  • Assist to the monthly coordination meetings with UNHCR and partners.
  • Assist to all training given to OVs.
  • Assist to monthly meetings at MF.
  • Write the Sitrep reports, and ensure proper documentation and updating. 
  • Coordinate with all 4 departments at MF to send the monthly reports properly and on time to UNHCR.
  • Assess the needs of these communities and groups and propose ideas for awareness or other psycho-social activities.
  • Coordinate with UASC-IRC project and assist to all trainings and meetings.
  • Conduct and monitor the monthly home visits to relevant UASC designated by CP department.
  • Communicate on regular basis with OVs regarding the cases at risk.
