Pharmacist for humedica MMU
humedica has been operating in Lebanon since 2012, and is currently funded by the German Foreign Office. humedica is running two Mobile Medical Units (MMUs), serving approximately 30 informal tented settlements (ITS) in the Bekaa valley, providing free primary health care and medication for Syrian refugees. In addition, humedica is supporting Primary Health Care Centers (PHCs) under the administration of Ministry of Public Health for both Lebanese and Syrian patients.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Handling the pharmacy, dispensing medicine to patients, educating on medicine.
- Managing efficiently the pharmacy and medical equipment: drugs orders, follow-up of the stock, storage conditions, and inventories, follow-up of expired drugs, etc.
- Assist medical doctor and ensure comfort care to patients in accordance with doctors’ prescriptions, humedica protocols, respect of universal hygiene standards and context.
- Taking patient samples, pulses, temperatures and blood pressures when needed.
- Participate actively in the monitoring and the reporting of medical activities (correctly fill in patient files, forms, statistics, reports)
- Make sure all material and equipment are ready for daily activities – restocking the pharmacy in the morning / evening
- Support the team with transport and setting up the pharmacy and Mobile Medical Unit.
- Raise Awareness and knowledge of referral options and pathways and other relevant topics
- Assist in official field visits (e.g. German embassy, UN, etc.) and respond to questions in a polite and applicable manner

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Starting: 16th July 2018
Contract: Full-time Service provider – Fixed term contract for one year, with possible extension
Full time from Monday to Friday, working hours: 8.30 – 5.00, 30 minutes lunch break
Post based in the humedica MMU in Zahle and Central Bekaa. With your team (GP, midwife, pharmacist, field officer), you will visit one or two different tented settlement each day.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:
- Experience required: 1 to 2 years
- Bachelor Degree & Part of the Order of Pharmacists
- Good communication skills, ability to listen
- Experience with dispensing medicine
- Arabic and English speaking MANDATORY
- Experience working with NGO is an asset
- High Motivation for challenging and complex task and good common sense
- Strong skills in communication, mediation and cooperation
- Ability to cope with difficult security context
- To be able to work as part of a team and participate in all activities of the MMU
- To be able and willing to work in a multi-cultural environment
