Concrete Carpenter and Steel Fixer Trainer

About the job 

The purposes of this project is toImprove short-term food security by engaging the targeted people in FFA and complementary training through FFT approach, while improving community resilience through the creation of productive assets and agricultural/livelihoods training.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

• Take attendance and follow-up with participants on their regular commitment. 

• Maintain a safe and effective teaching / learning environment during the sessions and report any incident to DRC Livelihood staff. 

• Develop a midterm and a final exam to evaluate the learning effectiveness.  

• Provide weekly reports to measure progress, identify barriers to learning and recommend action to overcome barriers. 

• Deliver training on Concrete Carpenter and Steel Fixer to the identified traineesin thesethree areas in Akkar; Hissa, Ghzayleh, and Hrar; The training will be divided into 2 cycles, The first one for 20 hours and lasting for a period of 1 week and the Second one for a period of 2 months. 

• Have the complete knowledge and the ability to train on the following modules: Module 1: Safety, Health, and Discipline in the construction site. Module 2: Concrete Carpenter: Types of tools used in construction, dealing with Wood, Introduction to Formworks, installing tie-rods and clips, Struts and Bracings Installation, Formwork fabrication, Timber cut-to-size, Shuttering and Scaffolding, Leveling. Module 3: Steel Fixer: Types, sizes, and usage of steel re-bars, tying bars together, Re-bars bending process, installing stirrups, Re-bars overlapping, Tying Column Steel Elements to Dowels, Re-bars cutting, Spacers installation.

About you 

To be successful in this role we expect you to have an experience in working with the local environment, Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the relative sector in North Lebanon. 

• Previous experience in teaching and training. 

• Previous experience working with NGO’s 

• Team work skills. 

• Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills 

• Arabic: Fluent  

• English: Basic
