PROJECT & INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION:

Mercy Corps is an international humanitarian and development organization working in over 40 countries worldwide helping people build secure, productive and just communities. In Jordan, Mercy Corps has been actively working since 2002 to implement a variety of programs funded by US and European governments and private donors. The current portfolio includes programs focusing on improved water demand management, conflict mitigation and social cohesion programming, child, youth and inclusive education programming, and humanitarian relief programming.  

The intern will work on the IT network project. Currently, the ICT department at Mercy Corps Lebanon has the opportunity of providing training for those who are interested in having an overview on the ICT infrastructure, work  and obstacles we face along with how to find solution for a problem, what is the best solution and the policies and procedures of MC state.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Through the internship, the intern will acquire:

•  Introduction to MC International and local Standards in the ICT Dept.
•  Learning how to setup an infrastructure for office/suboffice
•  Learning how to diagnose problems related to networking/os/hardware and find solutions
•  Learn how to document ICT infrastructure using many software such as Visio
•  Learn to implement security measures to prevent unauthorized access or breach.

DELIVERABLES:

The Intern will be able to have a clear understanding and a solid foundation about basic setups and infrastructure support as a standard for any future employment.

IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:

• Diploma:  pursuing a degree in IT/Computer Science/Computer Communication Engineering...
• Experience: N/a
• Languages: English fluency
• Communication and reporting skill levels: N/a
• Interpersonal skills:N/a
• Computer skills: Basic networking skills preferred/use of IT tools is a plus
