North Leda is currently recruiting an advocacy trainer for its new project “Baldati, an open web city-advocacy champions”, funded by USAID through BALADI CAP program. This project is being implemented in partnership with ArabiaGIS in 3 areas in North Lebanon: Bcharre, Tripoli and Jord el Kayteh Akkar.
The project aims at building the capacity of 30 “Advocacy champions” from the above mentioned geographical areas in order to allow them to better advocate and efficiently target and plan their advocacy process and to reach a greater impact.
All the project’s intervention and components contribute to the promotion of the access to information law.
Job Description:
The advocacy trainer will assist North LEDA to develop and implement an advocacy capacity building plan targeting 30 “advocacy champions” in the field of good governance: accountability, transparency and access to information.
He/she will have experience of working with civil society, and demonstrate advocacy experience.
He/she will serve as strategic and policy expert to achieve the following tasks:
- Task :
He/she will develop and implement a training of advocacy champions on advocacy techniques:
- Elaborate a training curriculum on advocacy techniques, including an introduction on good governance and advocacy.
- Build advocacy action plan.
- Enhance access to information for opinion leaders.
- Provide the trainees with negotiations techniques and social media advocacy.
Training will be delivered in 4 workshops
Task 2:
- Coach the development and implementation of advocacy initiatives
Deliverables:
- Advocacy training curriculum.
- Pre and post-test.
- Training handouts.
- Final report including: attendance sheet, evaluation and draft advocacy action plan for each of the 3 targeted areas.

• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in policy analysis and advocacy.
• Good knowledge of good governance, accountability and access to information Lebanese law and related issues.
• Extensive knowledge of at least 3 years work experience in NGO.
• Experience of working with local Authorities.
• Outstanding political and analytical skills.
• Good advocacy, communication and presentation skills (ability to address a wide range of audiences)
• Fluency in English and Arabic (speaking and writing).
• Sound organizational skills and ability to prioritize work, to meet deadlines and to work under pressure.
