In 2018, KAFA partnered with The Rebecca Dykes Foundation in a project entitled “Protecting victims of Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SBGV) and promoting Women’s Empowerment at KAFA’s shelter” aiming at promoting gender equality and tackling Violence Against Women through the provision of protection services to highly vulnerable population groups in Lebanon.
SCOPE OF WORK:
The consultant’s responsibility is to conduct self-defense sessions with a group of girls aged between 10 and 17 years old in Bekaa. The self-defense consultant will be working closely with the Child Protection Coordinator as well as with the Adolescent Friendly Space Supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide 15 self-defense sessions to adolescent girls aged between 10 and 17 years old;
- Answers questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living. Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.
- Stick with the work plan set with the Adolescent Friendly Space Supervisor;
- Raise logistics and technical challenges;
- Refer cases received while conducting activities to the Adolescent Friendly Space Supervisor;
- Coordinate with the Adolescent Friendly Space Supervisor and M&E consultant and provide them with needed information and database and documents related to monitoring activities.
SKILLS:
Proven experience in providing sessions on GBV and Child Protection risks;
- Knowledge of GBV and Child Protection concepts;
- Strong organizational and planning skills;
- Ability to conduct classes and activities
- Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position; including leading class, walking, standing, bending, reaching, squatting and lifting
- Ability to take the responsibility for the health and safety of others
- Must follow Active Wellness safety standards
PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS:
While working on a KAFA project, it is required to sign KAFA’s Child Protection Policy.
