Child Protection Officer

 

 

  • Provide technical guidance and direction for effective planning, implementation and monitoring of PSS activities provided to vulnerable children/adolescents and their families in community centers, SDCs and/or MU

  • Apply monitoring and reporting mechanisms on a variety of levels e.g. qualitative and quantitative measures for programme development, information for donor reports, etc.

  • Make frequent centers visits to monitor implementation of activities, identify opportunities and constraints and any adjustments needed including staff training.

  • Develop training programmes and assist in capacity building for staff and partners, possibly in priority thematic areas such as CP, psychosocial support, community resilience.

  • Monitor the identification of child protection cases and support in referring them adequately to other service providers.

  • Empower the field staff through ToT and/or training on identification of children.

  • Supervise the work of staff involved in the psychosocial support activities.

  • Supervise the Community Outreach intervention (home visits, focus group, community meetings, awareness sessions), ensuring a direct participation of the beneficiaries in the planning of the activities;

  • To closely coordinate with the Coordinators and the CEO to ensure effective delivery of age-appropriate activities in the Community Center/SDCs and MU;

  • Represent the agency/ organization in meetings with other partners and other actors, to advocate and promote programme goals and objectives, and communicate with major partners on policies.

  • Liaise with other agencies/NGOs/government bodies/donors to ensure coordination, implementation of common standards in the field and consideration of protection issues in assistance programs.

  • Any other task relevant to the position.

 

Essential:

A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a program position preferably with Local or International NGOs in the field of child protection;

Experience working with Syrian refugee communities in Lebanon is mandatory;

Experience of building field staff’s capacities through trainings or learning by doing;

Excellent communication, reporting, and proactive training skills;

Strong commitment to humanitarian and child protection values;

Good in Excel and Microsoft Word;
Valid Driving license and willingness to travel in North Bekaa, Qaa- Qasr- Hermel-Arsal- Jdeideh - Ain and surrounding
