Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Participate in planning education activities including focus groups, awareness sessions, trainings, and others; in cooperation with the Education Field Activities Coordinator.
  • Support community centers that deliver educational activities to monitor children’s educational progress;
  • Conduct trainings for the centers’ staff in monitoring tools and observe their activities to give guidance on how they can improve the quality of their delivery. 
  • Monitor the work of animators, teachers and volunteers through weekly visits, and class room observation.
  • Support in training animators, teachers and volunteers to use new/revised curriculum for different educational activities (CBECE, BLN, Remedial classes, Foreign Language classes and Foreign Language support).  
  • Work with TDH IT’s Education Coordinator and HR team to support the recruitment of education staff for field positions (animators, teachers, volunteers, and center coordinators).
  • In collaboration with TDH IT’s Project Manager, and the consortium’s Education Specialist, provide capacity building and technical support to field staff. Ensure on the job training of teachers, volunteers on topics including; teaching methodology, classroom skills, curriculum updates, child assessments, foreign language support, CB-ECE and CP. 
  • Monitor the quality of the project’s education activities by defining methodological standards;
  • Evaluate beneficiaries’ learning progress as well as their learning abilities;
  • Ensuring data of children’s progress is accurately collected and verified;
  • In coordination with the center coordinators, follow up with the teachers and volunteers to prepare and share their Lesson plans on weekly basis.
  • Regularly update TDH IT’s “Back to the Future” Project Manager and the education coordinator on the education situation in TDH IT’s area of response, as well as TDH IT’s progress in project implementation. 
  • Analyze technical added-value and project impact; set up technical evaluation exercises during and following implementation.
  • In collaboration with the center coordinator s and field officers, support the out reach workers in identifying the project beneficiaries, set up specific times for the opening and closure of activities.
  • Providing timely and detailed reporting of project activities to the Education Coordinator.
  • Participate in the trainings and education conducted by the consortium education specialist.
  • Represent TDH IT in local and national coordination meetings and working groups, concerning education.
  • Contribute to the preparation of relevant documents (including brochures, information notes, information board updates) for target communities.
  • Any other duty assigned by your Line Manager.

Qualifications & Experience: 

  • 3 years of relevant progressively responsible professional experience, including experience at field level, with at least 1 year experience working in an NGO/emergency settig. 
  • Previous experience implementing or advising on education projects in conflict affected or post conflicting settings required, with preferred expertise in areas such as community based education, student assessments, teacher training, curriculum and/or educational materials development, educational management and educational monitoring and information systems. 
  • Experience in education project coordination and monitoring.
  • experience of working with Lebanese public schools to support education activities. 
  • strong personnelle leadership skills, particularly mentoring skills.
  • Experience of working with a diverse team.
  • strong writing and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
