Main Tasks and Responsibilities

The responsibilities and tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinate and manage SPARK communication on the Al Fakhoora programme.
• Under supervision of the Head of Communication in Amsterdam implement the overall HES communication strategy and communication strategy for communicating with refugees.
• Ensure strong presence on social media.
• Organise award and graduation ceremonies for students
• Edit, maintain and ensure the success of the HES Website.
• Collect stories for communication purposes. Provide communications about events, conference and other SPARK activities.
• Develop and maintains a network of journalists.
• Other communication tasks as required.

Requirements and Skills

• BA or MA degree (or other relevant education)
• Excellent English and Arab language skills
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Communication, PR or Journalistic role, preferably in humanitarian aid and/or development cooperation
• Proven editing and writing skills
• Journalistic skills: not afraid of picking up the phone and giving someone a call
• Social media knowledge and experience are essential; in particular, digital advocacy
• Familiarity with Google Drive/Docs/Analytics/SEO/Ad words etc.
• Experienced with Word Press and Mail Chimp (basic knowledge of html preferred)
• Experience with graphic design preferred
• Good communication and social skills and the ability to work in a multicultural setting
• Proven organisational skills and the ability to work independently
• Lebanese nationality only
