School Maintenance Policy Expert Consultant

AMIDEAST/Lebanon is looking for a short-term School Maintenance Policy Expert Consultant to work on an education-related project.

The main job responsibilities will include the following:

-Work with different directorates to review all the policies, rules, decrees, circulars pertaining to school maintenance and rehabilitation/repair services.

-Perform empirical policy research when necessary to advise accordingly.

-Consolidate different maintenance, rehabilitation, repair policies.

-Working closely with the team to ensure that maintenance and rehabilitation/repair services meet the legal and regulatory requirements applied.

-Ensure that financial guidelines of maintenance and rehabilitation/repair services are considered and included in the revised set of policies.

-Provide timely, accurate and persuasive advice, underpinned by analysis, contextual awareness.

-Contribute to the issuance of anti-corruption policies relevant to maintenance and rehabilitation services.

-Contribute to accessibility commitments relevant to maintenance and rehabilitation

services.

-Draft new policies, rules, regulations and decrees pertaining to school maintenance, rehabilitation repair services.

-Perform other duties as deemed necessary.

The total number of days required for this consultancy is 40days (between August and November 2018).

Required Qualifications:

-A Masters in Engineering, Architecture, Education, Public Administration, Law or

other related fields.

-A qualification or substantial formal experience maintenance, rehabilitation and

repairs policies.

-Detailed understanding of Lebanese law as it affects school maintenance,

procurement and other relevant areas.

Knowledge of the current structure and challenges facing the education system in

Lebanon;

-Demonstrated ability to stimulate focused and productive dialogue at government

senior level;

-Strong leadership skills and team management abilities;

-Strong public presentation and communication skills in Arabic is a must, and either

English or French
