Short Term Technical Consultant - Loan Officer Trainer

This position requires a dynamic candidate with strong presentation skills, and practical experience in designing and delivering training and informational material to loan officers or other banking staff. In-depth knowledge of the commercial and SME banking sectors in Lebanon is critical.

Responsibilities

• Develop loan officer orientation plan and workshop agenda for commercial bank and microfinance institution based on the STEP matching grant model;
• Develop presentation material for loan officer orientation including description of STEP package, features, requirements, application process, guidelines and other required information;
• Develop workshop tools and activities such as case studies, scenarios, evaluation forms, etc;
• Deliver (up to 8) orientation workshops for loan officer teams in STEP's partner financial institution
• Loan officer orientation plan and workshop agenda
• Presentation and other material for loan officer orientation
• Train loan officers on STEP matching grant product
• Complete training report indicating, among other things, training results, assessment of trainees and recommendations for further training

Requirements

• University qualification in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or similar fields;
• Experience working in designing and developing training or orientation material for the financial sector, or related fields;
• In-depth knowledge of the SME financing or microfinance sector in Lebanon;
• Experience with commercial banks and MFIs, preferably in Lebanon;
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills;
• Outstanding team player and willingness to learn and support learning of others;
• Fluency in written and oral communication skills in English and Arabic

Administrative Scope:

• Reports to: SME Lead
• Number of days: up to 25 days, with up to 50% working remotely
• Schedule: Starting August 27, 2018 until November 9, 2018
• Conditions: Taxes will be applicable depending on registration and residency status
