MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitate project’s implementation
Provide ongoing support, guidance and advice to program staff in the field of Focused Psychosocial Support
Ensure use of unified methods, tools and forms in activities and training
Support the identification and endure the right approach to tackle advocacy PSS issues.
Ensure that Focused PSS is delivered in line with global minimum standards and national inter-agency SOPs/standards
Generates overview of quality of FPSS in WV Bekaa: status, methods used and results achieved;
Support the planning and coordinate the implementation of the Child Protection Project activities, ensuring deliverables and targets are met.
Monitor the implementation and progress of the project(s) according to approved stated objectives, plan of action, budget and record progress by working closely with the Evaluation, learning and accountability unit and the project manager.
Ensure all Protection and CP cases are properly referred and documented
Conduct regular spot checks to all projects in the field to ensure CP standards are in place.
Provide and oversee the implementation of Child Protection Standards and Child Safe Organization.
Ensure Staff Management
Management of the performance of direct reports with continuous feedback to ensure proper performance management;
Develop teamwork among the project staff, ensuring a conducive working atmosphere is created and opportunities provided to share lessons learned, experiences, observations and challenges to inform project management
Handle Staff Capacity Building
Provide coaching, mentoring and training to the social workers, social worker assistant and Outreach Facilitators during a 2-month training program on FPSS curriculum for children and caregivers.
Provide technical capacity building on PSS, CP and GBV protection concepts, safe identification and referral and confidentiality and informed consent
Together with the Child Protection Manager, plan and provide opportunities for capacity building to project team in consultation with P&C Department to ensure coordinated technical and personal development.
Ensure Networking & External Engagement
Engage partner communities and build constructive relationships in order to understand their realities and facilitate the project’s implementation processes effectively.
Conduct meetings with key stakeholders to engage them about the project interventions and agree on their contributions in order to ensure sustainability.
Network with local NGOs, municipalities, schools, community centers, and communities
Ensure children’s safety and protection
Responsible for the security of project staff, ensuring that staff abides by WVL security procedures and policies. Report any security breaches as necessary.
Participate in personal safety training as required
Undertake any other duties as shall be delegated by the supervisor.
Handle tracking, reporting on activities and filing
Maintain and keep daily records of the MOV means of verifications including attendance sheets, pre/post-tests, minutes of meetings, and evaluation documents are in place.
Ensure the tracking of the referrals, weekly reports, notes and plan.
Follow up on the Referral Tracking sheet on a monthly basis.
Follow up on the important records and correspondences related to the FPSS classes.
Coordinate tasks related to support functions
Ensure that the needed material, rehabilitation and logistics of the determined locations are taking place.
Ensure procurement requests are submitted on a timely basis to facilitate timely implementation of field activities, and adhering to both WVI and donor requirements in meeting the project objectives.
Assist in recruiting field staff and temporary staff and provide the needed technical support to them in the preparation during the implementation of the project activities.
Perform other duties as required
Attend and participate in capacity building trainings locally and internationally.
Attend and participate in WVL’s spiritual nurture and other organizational events.
Responsible of own security and actively contribute to a positive security culture.
Abide by the security policies and procedures and report any incidents or breaches to line manager and / or security manager.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Line Manager
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor degree in a social development related field, (psychology, sociology, social sciences/humanities, specialized education or social animation) or an equivalent of relevant CP experience of 2-3 years;
- Very good understanding of Child Protection standards and policies;
- Good written and spoken English. Knowledge or Arabic language is necessary
- Experience in working with child labour (street children and children expose to high risk)
- Knowledge of the psychosocial guidelines and approaches related to emergency context (MHPSS IASC guidelines, PFA principles, etc.);
- Familiar with core principles of Children Rights, Participation, Do No Harm, Community and Family Support as well as Children in Emergencies minimum standards;
- Experienced in working with local communities ((Parents and children) and authorities; preferably in the Bekaa.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a sense of responsibility
- Reporting and data base entry skills
- Excellent communication, reporting, and pro-active negotiation skills
- Network builder, able to handle pressure well and work in cross-cultural setting.
