Operating since 2004 in Lebanon, DRC has addressed the needs and rights of vulnerable populations, working initially with Palestinian refugees (since 2004), Iraqi refugees (2007-2010), Lebanese IDPs (during the 2006 conflict), migrant domestic workers (since 2009) and, since 2011, responding to the Syrian refugee crisis.
DRC Lebanon is currently delivering programming in protection, housing, infrastructure, basic assistance, livelihoods, and community development interventions. This myriad programming seeks to address the immediate needs of displaced populations and concurrently support vulnerable host populations. DRC has five offices spread throughout Lebanon in, Beirut, the Bekaa, Saida, Tripoli and Qobayat.
About the job
The role of the Graphic Design Trainer is to provide the trainees with the required basic graphic design knowledge including GD software (Photoshop and illustrator), follow up attendance, assess learning effectiveness, and perform daily tasks.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
- Prepare an 80 hours’ curriculum and Syllabus that satisfy the objectives of the course and include basic accounting principles, personal financial principles, auditing process and standards, basic of managerial accounting.
- Ensure that the lessons are planned and delivered in a highly participative and interactive manner and responsive to the request and suggestions of the students;
- The cohort main goals are to:
- Create images that identify a product or convey a message
- Determine the message a design should portray
- Deliver a variety of design related programs
- The knowhow of presenting a design to clients.
- Ensure that a brief on marketing and publicity strategies is being delivered to trainees.
- Create lesson plans, presentations, visual aids and other training materials as required stating the objectives of each method used and respecting the developed curriculum.
Target Audience:
- Vulnerable beneficiaries selected by DRC,
- Mixed classes of Youth and Adults (18-50 years old), Lebanese and Syrians, Male and Female.
About you
- To be successful in this role we expect you to have a Bachelor Degree in Graphic Design.
Moreover, we also expect the following:
Required:
- Minimum of 1-year experience working as a graphic designer.
- Minimum of 1-year experience teaching in VTs or NGOs.
- Experience in teaching in NGOs is a plus.
- Demonstrate understanding of working with vulnerable trainees, ability to respect the participants’ culture and beliefs and the ability to treat them all equally
