Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Provide technical guidance and supervision of effective planning, implementing and monitoring of CP activities to be provided to vulnerable children/adolescents and their families in Lebanon, particularly in the areas of North Bekaa and Mount Lebanon.
- Supervise TDH IT Community Based intervention (Community based PSS activities, CP Committees, focus group, awareness sessions), and direct implementation
- Support the Case Management Supervisors in ensuring the compliance of the CM service with CP and CM standards; and the National SOP
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor implementation of activities, identify opportunities and constraints and any adjustments needed including staff training;
- Support in developing training programmes and required materials and assist in capacity building for staff and partners, possibly in priority thematic areas such as CP, psychosocial support, community resilience, Case management;
- Support the CP Expert in supervising the Child Protection Officers, CBO supervisors and Case management Teams and report back to the CP Specialist;
- Ensure the compliance with child protection standards, PSS Committee guidelines and TDH manuals during the provision of the Child protection activities;
- Follow up and assist M&E staff on the Monitoring of compliance of the staff with TDH IT Child Protection Policy and revise reports of any breaches to CP Specialist;
- Support frontliners in testing and enhance effective tools to enhance the quality of the CP programs and to monitor the implementation and achievement of CP objectives’ set, including support the development of toolkits, guidelines and manuals;
- Liaise with other agencies/NGOs/government bodies/donors to ensure coordination, implementation of common standards in the field and consideration of protection issues in assistance programs;
- Participate to CP Working Group meetings (national level and regional if required) when applicable.
- Provide technical training on CP to other organizations and TDH IT partners, where required;
- Ensure the unified strategy among the different areas of implementation (Mount Lebanon, North Bekaa)
- Support the CP Specialist in guiding the CP officers, CBO supervisors and CM Supervisors in both areas into a qualitative strategy of implementation
- Any other task relevant to the position.
Qualifications:
- Master degree in Social science/Psychology or equivalent.
- Excellent knowledge of Child protection minimum standards and child protection in emergency (CPiE).
- Excellent knowledge in psycho social support program in Lebanon.
- Good reporting skills.
- Ability to ensure capacity building to the team including through training and on job coaching.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Sound organizational skills, precision, rapidity, dependability, and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
- Willingness and capacity to be flexible and patient when challenged by difficult and frustrating working conditions
- Prepared to live and work in an uncertain security environment
Professional experience:
a) At least 3 years’ previous field experience in a relief NGO in a similar role
b) Minimum 3 years of previous experience in a child protection technical position
