Psychologist (Part-time)

Responsibilities and Essential Functions 

  • Develop protection session plan and conduct psychosocial and awareness activities for children and adults.
  • Identify protection concern and provide psychological support to cases of concern.
  • Make necessary and timely referrals when needed, respecting confidentiality and the beneficiary’s right
  • Conduct discussion groups, focus groups.
  • Hold a weekly meeting with the field staff and Program Coordinator to follow up on the beneficiaries’ status and psychosocial intervention.
  • Cooperate closely with parents in order to make the psychosocial support more efficient.
  • Create and manage a file for each patient in order to report or track his/her psychological progress.
  • Ensure timely reporting of the activities to the Program Coordinators.
  • Build the capacity of the field staff on psychological issues.
  • Assist the Program Coordinators in drafting proposals and reports.
  • Attend the Protection working groups
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned

 

Qualifications

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  •        Good organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and initiative taker. 
  • Good report writing skills.
  • Ability to communicate with vulnerable populations.
  • Advanced knowledge in psychosocial / psychological interventions (Child protection, Sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), art therapy etc...) 
  • Dynamic personality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. 
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English; French is a plus

     

Experience:

  •      3 years of work experience.
  •     Previous experience in NGO and humanitarian field is an advantage
  •     Previous experience in working with children and vulnerable populations is an advantage
