HR/ Communications Officer

BACKGROUND

 

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare. MSF offers assistance to people based on need, irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.

Our actions are guided by medical ethics and the principles of neutrality and impartiality.

To maintain its independence from external interference, MSF relies on donations from private individuals for the vast majority of its income.

MSF has been providing medical care to vulnerable populations since 1971.

 

MAIN OBJECTIVE

 

MSF Lebanon Branch office team is responsible for recruiting staff to join MSF teams around the world.

The HR communications officer will work with both the communications and human resources departments to ensure the optimal use of communications platforms and tools (online and offline) for our recruitment purposes.

The overall objective is to support the outreach efforts in order to optimize recruitment of the right profiles, in all fields of activity to answer to operational needs.

The HR team is responsible for attracting, recruiting and retaining professionals who meet the criteria and quality standards as defined by MSF, thereby ensuring equity, transparency and objectivity in all steps of the process.

In support of recruitment efforts, the Communications team is responsible for developing and implementing products and tools to clearly explain MSF’s identity, explain how MSF functions, in order to attract professional candidates to work with MSF around the world.

 

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Online:

  • Manage the linked In recruiter account and liaise with the communications department for posting content and updates and follow up with potential applicants of the linked in account and forward their applications to the recruitment team
  • Support in managing the recruitment webpage by updating and adding relevant content
  • Support in developing recruitment related content on all social media accounts
  • Collaborate with the social media team in defining and creating a social media marketing strategy according to the profiles needed
  • Identify other useful and adapted online recruitment channels in order to increase the number of applications
  • Post job vacancies and other adaptations on the website and to publish recruitment posts on the social media
  • Support in conducting community management for all social media posts concerning recruitment

 

Offline:

  • Responsible for the development of all new recruitment material in accordance with the HR and communications team, as well as the follow up on the production of the material
  • Focal point for all HR related events (job fairs, medical conferences, outreach events…) in terms of organization and logistics
  • Focal point for the printed recruitment material in terms of follow up on printing, ensuring all needed material for events and outreach is ready
  • Build the community of Friend of MSF (FoMSF) with different universities as well as identify the relevant events and support in their implementation
  • Work with the communications team on the development, implementation and follow up of the recruitment campaigns

 

Monitoring, evaluation and reporting:

  • Monitor and analyses all recruitment activities according to the set KPIs in order to evaluate the impact of the digital activities
  • Responsible for the HR digital budget
  • Monitor the digital recruiting/social media world and to keep abreast of the latest technological evolution, emerging social media, mergers, threats and opportunities and adapt channels accordingly
  • Provide monthly reports on progress

 

Support for Selection and Recruitment:

  • Help the HR team implement the selection process always ensuring the quality of the process. Responsibilities include CV screening,  facilitation and participation in the selection process, collection and verification of candidate documents and credentials
  • Manages the communication with candidates for recruitment purposes (information session) and is responsible for providing all necessary documents and information on the Organization’s values, way of operating, working conditions and other critical information
  • Help update the HR Software with the relevant candidate information
  • Ensures the update of the availability list of candidates recruited

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Previous working experience of at least 3 years in Marketing and/or digital communications. HR experience is a plus
  • Commitment to MSF’s humanitarian values and to humanitarian work
  • Highly organized with proven experience from administrative work, with ability to handle multiple priorities at a time
  • Strong interpersonal, intercultural, and communication skills
  • Pro-active and resourceful, results oriented
  • Collaborative, constructive, team oriented
  • Digital and social media skills
  • Fluency in Arabic and English (both spoken and written); French is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and report relevant information clearly and concisely
  • Excellent management and communication skills, outgoing personality, good representation
  • Flexibility to travel

     

  • Location: Based in MSF Lebanon Branch Office in Beirut, Lebanon

    Duration contract: 6 months, renewable

    Language: Arabic native speaker, fluent in English, French is a plus
