Project Coordinator

Lebanese Democratic Women Gathering is a member of a consortium composed of Euromed Feminist Initiative, Care International in Lebanon, and Legal Action Worldwide which is currently implementing the project “Strengthening access to protection, participation and services for women refugees, IDPs and host communities” in Lebanon. The objectives are to enhance security and resilience for Syrian women refugees and women from host communities through supporting and coordinating comprehensive and structured services and referral mechanisms, as well as to support national institutions in their work towards more gender sensitive policy frameworks and legislation. The activities of the project are implemented in 4 regions of Lebanon: Beirut, Mount Lebanon, North Lebanon and the Bekaa. The duration of the project is from 2018 to2020

The consortia is led by Euromed Feminist Initiative and starting September 1st 2018, will implement a multi-county project “Strengthening access to protection, participation and services for women refugees, IDPs and host communities”, funded by the EU Regional Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian Crisis – MADAD. The overall objective is to improve the livelihood, agency and legal and social protection for Syrian women refugees, IDPs and host communities in the region, with focus on Lebanon, Iraq/Kurdistan Region – Iraq (KR-I) and Jordan.

 

Context

 

 The project coordinator in this project will be recruited based on an open competitive process. He / She will be responsible for the coordination and supervision of the project activities in RDFL’s center and will report to the project manager on the progress of the project in the designated area.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The project Coordinator insures an efficient coordination among partners, donors, authorities and other components of the project.
  • Support and supervise the team in implementation of the project.
  • Build staff capacity in accordance with adequate international guidelines and technical manuals.
  • Ensure the coherence and the homogeneity of the activities under his/her responsibility.
  • Ensure that project action plan is reviewed periodically based on the feedback from the monitoring of the project.
  • Understand and appropriately implement donor guidelines and procedures regarding reporting requirements, procurement of goods and services and keep informed of any new official guidelines and procedures.
  • Managing the activities budget and following-up the expenses as well as providing monthly budget forecasts
  • Set up and ensure the continuous monitoring of the activities under his/her management including qualitative and quantitative monitoring; ensuring that proper policy, standards & codes of conduct are enforced.
  • Conduct regular meetings with center managers and coordinators.
  • Suggest new operations according to needs identified in the area.
  • Follow day to day operations
  • Assist in presenting tenders to donors
  • Meeting with donors and partners
  • Visit operations in the field
  • Coordinate with centers and Coordinators to achieve pre set goals
  • Report to management
  • Ensure coordination with project’s staff and RDFL members
  • Provide input on program development and recommendations, as required
  • Regular coordination and collaboration with international or local partners and staff to ensure involvement in service delivery, planning and reporting
  • Preparing and submitting reports in timely manner
  • Program documentation, data collection, analysis, final outcomes report for donor reports
  • Documentation of all activities and outcomes
  • Participate in relevant working group on area level
  • Ensure effective communication with all key stakeholders

 

 

Qualifications

 

-       Holds a University degree preferably related to social work
-       Has experience working in gender related projects
-       Possesses strong organizational skills
-       Has a strong understanding of the community and has established working relations with local    CBOs, community leaders, and municipality preferable.
-       Has at minimum 3-5 years of experience working with an NGO and in the protection field   (preferred)
-       Proactive, has strong communication skills and a team player.
-       Has good skills in planning and management and is able to work under pressure.
-       Is able to manage time and handle multiple tasks concurrently within the deadlines.
-       Has good working knowledge in English (both orally and written).
-       Has good documentation and writing skills.
-      Has proficient computer skills
