Instructors of English for Innovative Vocational Program

 Background: The Tech for Food Digital Skills Training Program is an innovative vocational training program that gives disadvantaged youth the opportunity to learn transferable skills relevant to the growing international Digital Economy. The program, managed by AUB-CCECS in collaboration in Sidon with the Lebanese League for Women in Business and funded by the World Food Programme, provides basic and advanced Digital Skills and English classes for disadvantaged Syrian refugee and host community young adults. Local instructors deliver the training under the supervision of the AUB faculty.

Key areas of Responsibility

  • Lead English class of up to 25 participants.
  • Coach in basic English conversational skills.
  • Train students in basic IT-related vocabulary and language.
  • Train students in soft skills through conversational skills

 

Key Characteristics

  • Passionate working with young adults and disadvantaged communities
  • Able to communicate with young and disadvantaged communities, especially when addressing their needs.

 

Qualifications

  • A relevant Bachelor’s degree, preferably in TEFL or English language
  • Minimum one year of experience in teaching/training/tutoring (previous experience working with  underprivileged communities would be an added advantage)
  • Good presentation and communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Good facilitation and time management skills
  • Knowledge of soft skills required for workplace readiness
  • Fluency in English and Arabic is essential

Terms of Contract

Min 12 hours /week – Max 24 hours/week in first 2 weeks  Min  3 hours/week- Max hours 6 hours/week for 10 weeksDays and Times of Classes To Be Determined
