About the job 

Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly qualified to respond to CP & GBV concerns at a group and individual level. Your main duties and responsibilities will be:​

• The Psychologist will provide Psychological Support to most critical identified cases (by Child Protection (CP) and Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) case workers from DRC or local partners) promoting an integrative and holistic survivor centered approach.  

• Assist the SGBV and CP case workers in the detection of most vulnerable cases  

• Provide a clinical assessment on identified cases of persons at risk and survivors of SGBV  

• Report & produce and maintain accurate records and follow up action plans of the beneficiaries (cases files and technical reports must be archived in locked and secure location, access to them should be restricted only to relevant, authorized CP and SGBV project staff)  

• Psychologist will provide assistance to SGBV and CP case workers when needed  

• Attend Best Interest Assessment and Determination meetings and advocate for the best interest and safety of the child when convened  

• Identify cases requiring psychiatric mental health services and refer to the appropriate actors. Coordinate with these service providers to adapt the therapeutic plan of the client accordingly  

• Contribute to the maintenance of an up-to-date service mapping of the service providers operating in the area and ensure that caseworkers are informed about the available services  

• Actively participate and contribute to Mental Health and psychosocial support, child protection, GBV and other relevant coordination mechanisms as requested by the protection manager. Share relevant information and action points with the protection manager and CP/GBV officers and coordinators when applicable  

• Remain abreast of SOPs and best practices at the field, the national and global level​

About you 

To be successful in this role we expect you to have Bachelor/Degree in clinical psychology. Moreover, we also expect the following:  

Required  

• Experience in mental health service provision 

• Computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel)  

• Experience / Ability to provide technical support, trainings and supervision to case workers​

We offer 

  • Contract length: until 30 June 2019 
  • Level:  C1, 1650 $ 
  • Duty Station: Akkar 
  • Start date: 25 October 2018​
