Programme Assistant

Reporting Line

The Programme Assistant reports to the Programme Manager

 

Place of Work

S/he is based in Beirut, with frequent trips to the implementation sites.

 

Under the supervision of the Programme Manager (P.M), the Programme Assistant will perform the following duties:

General Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and designing the programme and proactively monitoring its progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective actions
  • Assist in the project activity work plan and its revisions periodically as required
  • Report the progress of the programme at regular intervals to the P.M
  • Engage in managing communications with stakeholders as directed by the P.M
  • Assist in recording and developing materials for operational and donor communication
  • As directed by the P.M, ensure proper coordination with national authorities and international counterparts
  • Assist in the development of project proposals and concept notes
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the P.M

 

In addition, like all RET Staff

  • Comply with internal policies, ensuring that activities and their performance comply with what is established in RET's Code of Conduct and other Manuals;
  • Work as a team member to achieve RET’s goals;
  • Manage in a transparent way RET’s resources, fulfilling effectively and efficiently the tasks entrusted;
  • Propose, constructively, alternative solutions to problems that arise in the work area.

 

Qualifications

  • University Degree (preferred) in Education, Social Sciences, or related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in a relevant field 
  • Ability to lead strategic planning, results-based management and reporting
  • Excellent organizational skills including the ability to strategically prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Excellent writing skills, with analytical capacity and ability to synthesize project outputs and relevant findings for the preparation of quality project reports
  • Strong communication skills
  • Openness to change and ability to work under challenging conditions
  • Fluent in English/French and Arabic
