Youth Focal Point - Tripoli

Reporting Line

The Youth Focal Point reports to the Project Coordinator.

Place of Work

S/he is based in project implementation site

Under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator, the Youth Focal Point will perform the following duties:

General Responsibilities

• Implement and supervise project activities for youth in a timely manner;
• Assist the youth activity facilitators for operational, financial and reporting tasks;
• Maintain regular written and oral reporting with the Programme Manager and Project Coordinator;
• Act as field focal point for RET Liban;
• Ensure proper coordination between RET Liban and local and national governments;
• Develop and maintain project records such as databases, reports and records of decisions

In addition, like all RET Staff

• Comply with internal policies, ensuring that activities and their performance comply with what is established in RET's Code of Conduct and other Manuals;
• Work as a team to achieve RET’s goals;
• Manage in a transparent way RET’s resources, fulfilling effectively and efficiently the tasks entrusted;
• Propose, constructively, alternative solutions to problems that arise in the work area.

Qualifications

• University degree in preferably social studies, humanities or political science
• Minimum 3 years of related experience (project on conflict resolution, programmes with the youth)
• Proven ability to negotiate multiple relationships with various partners
• Dynamic leader with creative problem solving skills, particularly in challenging situations
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Advanced computer skills, specifically in MS Word, Excel
• Ability to work flexibly and under challenging circumstances
• Experience in the social stability/livelihoods sector, and education programs for peace, and/ or experience working with youth and women would be an asset; 
• Fluent Arabic with either English and / or French
