World Learning has an immediate vacancy for a  short-term consultancy “2D Animation Specialist” for its QITABI project. This position is open for a Lebanese national.

Scope and Primary Responsibilities:

Project Overview

QITABI is a five year, $46.2 million project that will improve both access to education and learning outcomes in primary schools, in addition to supporting institutional effectiveness across MEHE (Ministry of Education and Higher Education) in Lebanon. QITABI aims to improve outcomes in reading at the primary level, under the assumption that increased literacy directly correlates to increased academic and professional achievement. Improved facilities, services, and teaching – along with more effectively engaged communities and school councils – will not only improve learning outcomes, but also increase the chances of youth remaining in the formal education system. The project has three components:

• Component 1: Improving reading outcomes for primary level public school students
• Component 2: Expanding access to safe and relevant education for vulnerable public school students
• Component 3: Strengthening management (resilience) in the education system to better direct and monitor education

The 2D Animation Specialist must have the capacity to:

• Create a storyboard that depict the script and narrative using 2D action computer-generated graphics and special effects
• Composite the various layers of animation
  • Backgrounds, special effects, characters and graphics;
  • Embed digital videos and background music in the animation;
  • Edit videos and optimize audio visual quality;

in order to produce the finished piece

Skills:

• 2D animation
• Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash

Duration:

• Animation duration: 3-4 minutes
• Total duration including the embedded videos: 4-5 minutes

 Final format:

• MPEG, MP4 or other similar format that can be compatible with most video players on computers and online

 Delivery Timeframe after signing the contract:

• 2 days to present up to 3 different animation concepts for evaluation and feedback
• 10 days to deliver the final version and make necessary edits as requested
• Deadline: November 30, 2018 – delays in delivery due to unjustified reasons will be penalized

 Experience:

• Experience in animation or design role
• Portfolio demonstrating previous professional experience in 2D animation and preferably in similar field
• Creativity, artistic talent, and an eye for design
• Passion and a knack for storytelling
• Interpersonal communication skills with a willingness to accept feedback and constructive criticism
