Monitoring, Evaluation, (M&E) Coordinator

Responsibilities and Duties:

 

  • Support in maintenance and update of resultsbased M&E plans and systems by the identification of baseline data, targets, data sources and data collection methods.
  • Conduct regular field visits to provide guidance to and support the M&E needs of field staff.
  • Monitor policies compliance and evaluate implementation and program procedures.
  • Assist in managing the accuracy of information flow and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Assist in the training of relevant staff on MEAL procedures.
  • Any other relevant MEAL tasks requested

 

Monitoring

  • Assist in the maintenance of efficient data collection systems with the help of field and partner staff
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of information tracking systems (tracking sheets or databases).
  • Assist in the analysis of data which will be used to share progress, trends, gaps with program staff and develop improvement plans as needed.
  • Ensure timeliness of MEAL activities.

 

Evaluation/Assessments

  • Assist in the design of methodologies and tools for internal assessments, surveys, and evaluations.
  • Routinely perform quality control checks of monitoring and evaluation work, overseeing that planned monitoring and evaluation activities are taking place
  • Drafts the sections of monthly and final reports which report on indicators and progress towards targets, including a clear explanation of any problems encountered in the monitoring and evaluation process and how these were addressed.

 

Qualifications

  • Preferable a Bachelor’s degree with relevant work experience in Social Sciences, Public Health, or a field relevant to the position.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in M&E and working with stakeholders.
  • Completed training or taken a course in gathering, analyzing and presenting quantitative and qualitative data, preferably with experience in working with statistical packages (e.g. SPSS, R) and familiarity with IT applications to support MEAL and information management (Internships are counted as experience).

  • Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic communication facilitation, and team building skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively with others – strong interpersonal skills
  • Good organizational skills including consistency, attention to detail and patience
  • Ability to show perseverance, tenacity and the ability to work under pressure 
  • Result oriented through setting goals, plans and prioritizing effectively, monitoring quality and progress of work against plans
