Curator for exhibition of contemporary Syrian art

The Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung (RLS) is a
German political foundation affiliated with the German party “Die Linke” (The
Left Party). RLS is a provider of civic education and a center for progressive
social research (www.rosalux.de). Since May 2017, RLS has opened its office in Beirut.

The Beirut Office is looking for a curator
to support the organization and implementation of an exhibition of contemporary
Syrian art in Berlin.

Time frame: 1 month

Starting Date: 20.11.2018

Main tasks and responsibilities:

Conceptualize the exhibition of contemporary
Syrian art with the responsible project manager

Choose artists to be exhibit at the exhibition

Select museums or art-spaces for the
exhibition in cooperation with the responsible project manager

Conceptualize the visual aspects of the exhibition
in cooperation with the responsible project manager

Coordinate closely with the team of RLS Beirut during the whole process

Requirements of the applicant

-       
Bachelor Degree in art, graphic design or a related field

-       
Minimum of 5 years of experience in curating

-       
Good analytical and factual understanding of the topic of contemporary
Syrian art

-       
Experience in project coordination and management

-       
Sharing the understandings and values of RLS

-       
Fluency in Arabic and English

-       
Ability to travel to Germany
