Research Associate

Main Tasks:

• Coordinate and collaborate effectively with other members of the FPS PwD team
• Manage from a technical perspective the research design, process, and reporting
• Ensure thorough research documentation
• Train PwD staff on appropriate data collection and good research practice
• Attend the weekly PwD team meeting

• Preparatory Phase: 6 weeks
  • Undertake a literature review on disability and health in Lebanon
  • Elaborate the Disability & Health Situational Analysis study methodology, in collaboration with FPS technical staff
  • Lead the construction of the quantitative section (survey) of the Disability & Health Situational Analysis, in collaboration with FPS and Ministry of Social Affairs technical staff
  • Lead the construction of the qualitative sections (focus groups and key informant interviews) of the Disability & Health Situational Analysis, in collaboration with FPS and Ministry of Social Affairs technical staff
  • Plan for the implementation of the assessment with the Health Coordinator
  • Train Project Officers on use of study tools

• Assessment and Analysis Phases: 20 weeks
  • Accompany Project Officers during the initial assessment phase to ensure proper use of study tools
  • With support from the M&E department, monitor assessment progress
  • Participate in the interviews and focus group discussions
  • Perform primary analysis of quantitative data
  • Perform primary analysis of qualitative data

• Reporting Phase: 4 weeks
  • Draft Disability & Health Situational Analysis report
  • Final Disability & Health Situational Analysis report, with support from the Director of Programs

Deliverables:

• Disability & Health Situational Analysis -- construction and analysis of the quantitative section (English and Arabic)
• Disability & Health Situational Analysis -- construction and analysis of the qualitative sections (English and Arabic)
• Monthly progress reports
• Disability & Health Situational Analysis Final Report
