- Establish new partnerships and working relationships with potential partners who have a mandate and expertise on protection programs, such as UNICEF, Save the children, NRC etc.
- Responsible for the overall technical management of the protection activities/projects across the implementing areas in Lebanon
- Undertake periodic monitoring visits to the project location (in coordination with Operations) and devise action plans (based on the outcome) to ensure continued support to the operations teams as well as to improve quality of the programs in line with the project objectives, technical requirements, strategies and donor compliances
- Assist the Protection Technical Manager in programme development by providing inputs on program approaches and strategies based on lessons learned, changing contexts, policy change and analysis of the ongoing programs
- Assist the Protection Technical Manager in capacity building of the operations team and partners to ensure they are equipped with required working knowledge and skills and adequately capable to fulfill their tasks with high standards and quality
- Provide technical inputs to budget and work plan review to the operation team when required
- Represent the organization at inter/national level external meetings, working groups and other events relevant to protection programme, strategy and policies
- Contribute to the donor periodic reporting as per the contracts
- Undertake other duties as required by the Technical Protection Manager
Essential skills, background and experience required
Required:
Work experience: previous working experience in protection work, particularly psycho-social support, case management and/or legal protection, at an (I)NGO, humanitarian agency, or related field (minimum two to three years)
Experience working directly with children, women, and vulnerable people affected with conflict
Excellent reporting and writing skills in English and Arabic
Strong inter-personal communication skills, team work spirit, cultural sensitivity and empathy
Desired:
Organizational skills, time management skills
Knowledge of programme cycle management
Thorough understanding of humanitarian and protection standards
Have sensitivity to trauma and cultural norms (desirable)
Competence to prioritize tasks, oversight field staff and coordinate across centers and implementing programs
Previous experience in training and supervising field staff, technical supervision and monitoring, and/or PSS curriculum development
