College Readiness Consultant

Key areas of Responsibility

Humanities class integrates social studies, language arts and civic standards

• Deliver sessions on college readiness that is engaging, relevant and rigorous to a section of up to 25 students
• Constant follow up on students’ portfolio in preparing for their entry to higher education
• Givie feedback and communicate effectively with students who are from disadvantaged backgrounds
• Understand and apply effective strategies for intervention and differentiation in the classroom, including serving English Language learners and assist students in their individualized education plans
• Coordinate with AUB management team and reporting as required on students’ needs and improvements
• Participate in occasional training and evaluation sessions

Key Characteristics and Qualifications

• Experience teaching in a high school (grade 12), university, or training institute (experience teaching students from underprivileged communities would be an added advantage)
• Skilled in engaging learners with diverse previous educational experience utilizing student-centered learning techniques
• Passionate about working with young people and disadvantaged communities
• Good facilitation and time management skills
• Strong skills in basic computer applications, previous experience using online resources and technology in the classroom is a plus
