Psychotherapist JD

During one-to-one meetings and/or group sessions, the psychotherapist is requested to help the project’s participants with all kinds of difficulties, such as substance abuse, domestic violence, post-traumatic stress, child labor, eating disorders…. As well as talking to the participants and helping them deal with their problems, the psychotherapist is requested to assess service users’ needs and create an appropriate treatment plan for them, which will provide them with a structured and focused way of addressing their problems. The Psychotherapist is also tasked with maintaining records, tracking their service users’ progress, writing reports, respecting confidentiality and ensuring coordination with case workers. The main tasks to be completed by the psychotherapist shall be: v Help project participants to overcome their emotional problems and cope with tough situations using a range of psychological treatments v Conduct one on one meetings with service users and creating a treatment plan when needed v Conduct emotional support groups in Bekaa v Provide psycho-social support services and advice for children participants and/or their caregivers. v Work directly with case workers, to develop referrals and intervention plans and follow up at home level, when needed. v Draft reports v Actively participate in case studies and team supervision sessions The psychotherapist shall be more present and involved throughout the outreach and within the different sessions and project interventions v Provide advice and guidance to each center. Key Working Relationships: Position Reports to: LOST Manager Position directly providing technical support: Case Workers Education/ Certificates or Licenses: Degree/Diploma in Clinical Psychology Work Experience: Counselling and training experience with a reputable organization, including 1-2 years of experience counselling survivors of abuse or violence. Demonstrated Skills and Competencies v Clear understanding of child protection, gender inequality, and issues of violence against women and children. v Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect at all times v Must be computer literate, including Microsoft Word and Excel v Positive and professional attitude, able to organize, maintain composure and prioritize work under pressure, work overtime when necessary and be able to coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail. v Ability to work as a team member Reporting The psychotherapist shall report to the project manager.
