MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Facilitate project’s implementation

Projects activities are implemented as per the developed action plan

Conduct regular spot-checks on running sessions.

Develop the project action plan and monitor its implementation with the support of the outreach facilitators, social workers and animators.

Set weekly meetings with the team members to follow up on the implementation of the focused PSS sessions and progress of children.

Visit informal tented settlements and other communities, where beneficiaries reside, on regular basis and work closely with the protection committees by building their capacities to raise awareness and sensitize refugees (and host communities) on different protection concerns affecting their lives and strengthening their coping mechanisms and resilience.

Conduct relevant protection trainings for project staff.

Disseminate and share information on available services to staff and beneficiaries.

Ensure that the project staff complies with WVL’s child protection policy, code of conduct and the code of conduct of ICRC in emergencies.

Conduct mobile field visits to refugee settlements and host population areas to meet with community key stakeholders and identify protection concerns.

Identify, refer and follow up on the most vulnerable identified cases as well as individuals faced with protection concerns (incl. GBV, Child protection, etc.) to relevant internal or external services.

Liaise with localized advocacy groups, community based committees and other relevant local stakeholders (incl. municipalities, service providers, etc.) to improve the effectiveness of the protection monitoring activities

Coordinate weekly and monthly planning to the outreach facilitators and social workers, beginning of each month.

Submission of a monthly report related to the progress of the work to the CP Project Coordinator.

Ensure timely completion of project activities according to the weekly and monthly plan.

Attend on behalf of the CP Project Coordinator in Tripoli meetings when required.

Conduct various field visits to the different areas of operations to monitor and supervise the progress of the work periodically with the support of CP Project Coordinator.

Manage and build the capacity of outreach facilitators:

Ensure Community Engagement and Build relationships / capacities of related stakeholders

Strong network is built and the capacities of animators and partners is built

Identify and mobilize related stakeholders.

Assist in the provision of appropriate capacity building for the animators and / or volunteers and parents working in the focused PSS project to ensure GBV/Child protection prevention and response are adequately addressed across sectors and humanitarian interventions.

Support in the community engagement and provide capacity building for related stakeholders.

Ensure children’s safety & protection

Children attending the activities are protected and safe

Identify safety issues and follow-up with the coordinator on the safety and security of the chosen locations

Handle reporting and filing

Progress reports are done and submitted as per the required deadline

Follow up with the outreach facilitators and social workers on the delivery of progress report of children.

Ensure that a monthly operational progress reports is developed with the outreach facilitators and the social workers.

Ensure proper filing is done regarding every case, visit and discussion. Report must be written mentioning major points in addition to recommendations and follow-up plan.

Handle logistics responsibilities as necessary

All administrative and logistics matters are followed up on to ensure timely implementation of activities

Prepare and update the list of items to be purchased (PRF) on a monthly basis and coordinate with the Procurement officer.

Perform Other duties as required

Attend and participate in capacity building trainings locally and internationally.

Attend and participate in WVL’s spiritual nurture and other organizational events.

Responsible of own security and actively contribute to a positive security culture.

Abide by the security policies and procedures and report any incidents or breaches to line manager and / or security manager.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  1. Bachelor degree in a social development related field, (psychology, sociology, specialized education or social animation, social work, human rights)
  2. Academic background in psychology counseling or other related field
  3. Good command of English, both written and oral.
  4. At least two years experience in a similar related job.
  5. Experience in project implementation, monitoring and report writing
  6. Candidates must have knowledge in working with children.
  7. Knowledge of safety issues concerning infants and children.
  8. Good interpersonal skills and cross-cultural sensitivity.
  9. Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
  10. Ability to cope and work under pressure.
  11. Computer literate mainly in Microsoft Office package.
  12. Willing to travel within Lebanon with a valid driver’s license
  13. Well-organized, self-motivated and ability to work in a team.
  14. Ability to work in difficult and high risk situations.
  15. Willing to travel within the region approximately 60% of time.
  16. Familiar with core principles of Children Rights, Participation, Do No Harm, Community and Family Support as well as Children in Emergencies minimum standards.
  17. 85% field work and 15% Office work.
  18. Position requires availability and willingness to work outside regular office hours occasionally.
  19. Position requires willingness and ability to continue to function during a crisis situation, including during a World Vision response to a manmade or natural disaster.
