Curriculum Consultant (Hearing Impairment)

Main tasks required:

The consultant is expected to perform his/her tasks (curriculum development and training of trainers) between 1/02/2019 and 15/05/2019.

1. Review & update the Curriculum:

The consultant will review and update the DOT Lebanon Curriculum and create appropriate means of representation, means of action and expression and means of engagement suitable for individuals with special needs (hearing impairment). The review will result in a new adapted curriculum document with updated activities and approaches suitable for individuals with special needs (hearing impaired).

2. Deliver a One-Day Training:

The consultant will prepare and deliver a one-day training of the updated curriculum to trainers so they are capable of delivering this training to individuals with special needs (youth and adults with hearing impairment). The consultant will conduct the training using interactive training approaches paired with practical applications of the exercises/approaches and new activities added to the already existing curriculum.

The training will consist of two major themes: (1) brief knowledge and background about the physical disability (Hearing Impairment) and (2) practical exercises/approaches and activities of the DOT Lebanon curriculum which he/she has updated to be suitable for individuals with hearing impairments.

The expected outcomes are: (1) Trainers will have an increased knowledge about practical strategies to train individuals with hearing impairment and (2) Trainers will have mastery of the curriculum exercises/approaches and new activities designed for individuals with hearing impairment

The consultant is expected to:

- Update the Facilitator/Trainer Manual

- Update the Power Point Presentations

- Update the Activities/Supportive documents

- Share the Presentation that includes information about the physical disability
