Risk mapping -priorities identification trainer

This protection intervention, with a community- based approach, aims to have a significant participation from the caregivers, gatekeepers, and key influencers in the community. Accordingly, AND supported the creation and capacity strengthening of a community-based child protection committee -CBCPC-in each of the catchment areas to ensure the following:

  • Strong community-based referral.
  • Implementation of the awareness raising efforts across community members on child protection topics including child labour and early marriage.
  • Support community led initiatives on child labour.

Hence, AND is seeking the expertise of a  trainer/ facilitator on “risk mapping and priorities identification” to further support the committee in their mission.

Summary: The consultant is required to:

  • Identify, jointly with the committees, potential risks prevailing in the targeted communities, along with possible mitigation measures and priorities to promote violence free environment and decrease exploitation emphasizing on child labour and early marriage.
  • Introduce Committees on development and implementation of community led initiatives reflecting mitigation measure (s) of child labour and early marriage.

Areas of Responsibility:

The main task to be completed by the consultant includes but are not limited to:

  • Provision of a clear picture of the structure and functions of the current child protection system to all committee members.
  • Development of a Proper understanding of the overall project’s objective.
  • Provision of a practical and a user-friendly method to enable committee members to reflect the realities encountered in the field and resource mobilization approaches.
  • Provision of Support to the targeted committees in the development of a basic action plan responding to the identified needs through workshops and coaching.
  •  Development of at least two community led initiative per catchment area that promotes mitigation measures of child labor and/or early marriage.
  • Adhere to Akkar’ Network for Development-AND- Code of conduct and other policies with regards to confidentiality and do no harm.

Qualifications & Experience:        

  • Guaranteed deep understanding of the targeted communities to induce protection risk analysis and mapping of resources in a gender sensitive manner.
  •  Master’s Degree in Risk Management or any related field.
  • Knowledge in community Led-initiatives
  • Great communication skills
  • Creative mind 
  • 5 years’ experience or more is a plus
