Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Operational Roles and Responsibilities
- Prepare accounting transactions in an accurate and timely manner
- Reconcile checking account with the bank statement monthly for proper account balance and to identify any errors. To correct entries directly to and identify the source of each adjustment.
- Review, analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts for accuracy and confer with HQ Finance regarding any items not fully understood.
- Prepare and record all necessary journal entries to reflect correct accounting records
- Prepare Income Tax Returns
- Review and reconcile Payroll records and corresponding Tax Returns
- Investigate any discrepancies resulting from bank account reconciliation and communicate results and recommendations to HQ Finance
- Perform sufficient controls to ensure accuracy and completeness of the Society’s revenues at the branch level.
- Participate in inventory counts on periodic basis
- Follow-up on outstanding payments
- Prepare the depreciation calculation and computation in order to ensure that it is properly done and booked on the General Ledger
- Reconcile the Society’s accounts with suppliers’ accounts on a regular basis; investigate any resulting discrepancies and communicate results to the Finance HQ
- File all supporting documents
- Implement internal accounting controls designed to safeguard the assets of the Society and ensure the validity and accuracy of the Society’s financial information
- Inform the Chief Accountant & Finance Director of the progress of work as well as obtain their advice and guidance as needed
- Regularly brief the head of branch on the financial situation of the branch and assist the head of branch in the analysis and interpretation of the financial reports
- Provide the Finance team with any required information as requested
- Able to meet all financial reporting deadlines as set by LRC Finance HQ
