Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant

Under the overall supervision of the Head of office and direct supervision of the Emergency Response and Stabilization Coordinator, the incumbent is to assist in the design and support of effective implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Emergency Response and Stabilization activities. In particular, he/she will perform the following duties:

  • Assist in the design of appropriate assessment and monitoring methodologies and tools for the Emergency and Stabilization projects.
  • Monitor the implementation of field work assessments, monitoring activities and baseline/end line surveys.
  • Train field enumerators on conducting data collection and data entry activities.
  • With support from the program team, compile and analyze field monitoring data at least on a monthly basis and create ad-hoc reports when required for the Emergency and Stabilization projects, regularly undertake field monitoring trips to conduct household interviews, post-distribution monitoring, focus group discussions, and community visits.
  • Assist in the monitoring schedule, data collection targets, and reporting deadlines are adhered to.
  • Prepare periodic monitoring reports.
  • Propose recommendations to improve the efficiency of current monitoring systems.
  • Implement quality control mechanisms to improve the quality of the collected information.
  • Administer and act as the focal point for the Emergency Response and Stabilization monitoring and evaluation database.
  • Assist the Emergency Coordinator in analysing project data and suggesting methods for project improvement.
  • Track the projects progress in the achievement of expected outcomes, outputs and activities.
  • Support programme staff in drafting interim and final narrative reports as well as other types of reporting to donors, IOM RO, or IOM HQ.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
