WASH-Technical Field Worker

Desludging Activities:

  • Supervise / monitor the process of desludging.
  • Partake in the process of identifying desludging needs.
  • Coordinate with Desludging contractors and respond to beneficiaries’ queries to ensure that LebRelief' standards are respected and that the work is completed on time.

WASH Activities:

  • Take part in the distribution and/or installation of WASH items
  • Identify the needs for minor maintenance, specify the work to be performed, partake in the Contractor selection process and supervise the work to ensure that LebRelief technical standards are respected and that the construction works is completed on time

Reporting:

  • Report your activities to the WASH Team Leader;
  • Report the construction progress to the management and update the relevant formats and databases for the construction activities;
  • Report any type of problem encountered on the field  

Others:

• Undertake any other duties that may be assigned by the Line Manager; 

• Conduct duties in accordance with LebRelief programme Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); 

• Conduct duties in accordance with LebRelief Code of Conduct, and other key documents. 

Competencies and Skills:

. Minimum of two (2) years’ practical work experience working with vulnerable communities in the field of water/sanitation, WASH or Construction/infrastructure field.

• Familiarity with key technical standards ( AASHTo, CDR,etc..). 

• Ability to read and write in English. 

• Proven experience in infrastructure works. 

• Experience of working with International/National Non-Governmental Organisations desirable. 

• Deep understanding of age, gender and diversity issues with regard to WASH. 

• Knowledge of minimum WASH standards (e.g. Sphere).

• Cultural sensitivity (e.g. to age, gender and diversity) and experience working in complex / hostile environments. 

• Ability to prioritize large and changeable workloads. 

• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team, including team management. 

• Able to work independently and energetically

 **The construction Officer may be asked to drive LebRelief cars and respecting the driving policies set by the logistic department and attached to this document**.
