Pharmacy Supervisor

Responsibilities:

  • Supervising orders of medical and drug material in order to ensure an efficient and appropriate consumption pattern under budget constraints.
  • Supervising the supply drugs to patients, according to medical prescriptions, informing them on consumption patterns and keeping conditions in order to ensure their therapeutic progression Ensuring efficient supply to end users according to orders and stocks, and using cold chain when needed. Monitoring and analysing orders of depending pharmacies in order to avoid ruptures of stock or having expired drugs. Supervising, with the HR department, the associated processes (sizing, staff shifts, recruitment, training, performance evaluation, development and internal/external communication) of the pharmaceutical team and the nursing staff, in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required and to improve their dispensing capabilities.
  •  Recording all items received and issued in computer and reporting on drug consumptions and medical equipment dispensed according to protocols, informing on unusual patterns as well as forecasting future needs, in order to rationalize the budget and to ensure availability.
  • Preparing the budgets for the orders and the activities related to the pharmacy and updating the annual planing.
  • Ensuring and follow up of the security and hygiene of all pharmacy related departments and end user units, and the accurate handling of the products and equipments.
  • Supervising the functioning and organization of the project central pharmacy and other peripheral units, setting the protocols and procedures to be followed by all staff in order to ensure the quality of the service provided to the population.
  • Regular supervision to ensure the proper maintencance of cold chain and storage condition (humidity, temperature, light exposur, cleanliness, pest and rodents control, etc.) and that the classification and organization of medicines and medical material meet MSF protocols.
  • Supervising, coaching, motivating and evaluating all the pharmacy staff under his/her responsibility, in order to ensure the strict respect for working procedures and protocols.
  • Planning and supervising, in close coordination with the HR department, the associated processes (recruitment, training/induction, evaluation, potential detection, development and communication) of the staff under his/her responsibility in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required.
  • Monitoring ordering, reception and dispatch of the orders across pharmacies and from the supply. Reporting on drug consumption and stock levels to avoid expiries, overstocks and sleeping stocks. Reporting on drug consumption and medical devices dispensing.
  • Carrying out all the reporting tasks associated to his/her field of action and responsibility, ensuring its consistency and accuracy, in order to support in the relevant decision-making and participating in monthly reports according to guidelines (SitReps, medical statistical reports, etc.)
  • Follow up of the houses and offices health boxes and first aid kits for the car.
  • Adjusting the standard list of the project in collaboration with the project medical referent.
  • Analyze the clinical prescriptions
  • Follow up of the good dispensing practice
  • Technical advice in collaboration with supply team on the medical warehouse/cold chain management
  • Evaluate the patient satisfaction towards the services provided
  • Ensure the GDP application in the warehouse through regular follow up

 

Education

  •  Essential, degree of pharmacy management or nursing related studies., or medical profile
  • Pharmacy license is mandatory

Experience

  •  At least 1 year certified work experience as pharmacist. Desirable experience in MSF or other NGOs
