MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the management of individual grants within the World Vision Lebanon grants portfolio – including private and public funding sources

Support the timely and high quality development of key project documents (such as contracts and MoUs, Detailed Implementation Plans (DIP), cash flow budgets and other tools such as process maps/flows) by field units in order to support the management of World Vision Lebanon grants.

Ensure field team and support functions have the knowledge needed in order to be fully compliant with donor requirements as per contractual aspects of the grant through proper close-out/start-up of projects.

Support the development of grants amendments requests, in consultation with donors and/or Support Offices and in coordination with the field operations unit.

Support the development of grant reports, in consultation with donors and/or Support Offices and in coordination with the field operations unit.

Provide support and to the technical unit and the field operations unit to resolve issues related to the implementation and management of grants, including on aspects related to: 1/ donors’ guidelines and requirements; 2/ timely and efficient implementation of activities to reach set objectives and targets; 3/ effective coordination with stakeholders (including implementing partners and other stakeholders) 4/ providing input to GHT and ensuring action plans and recommendations are followed by the project field team.

Key tools and documents are consistently developed by field unit to support the management of new and existing grants. Any support needed is provided to empower them to provide quality leadership in alignment with donor expectations.

Expert advice on contractual aspects of grants management to ensure donor requirements are met and support excellence in grants management.

Timely and relevant projects’ amendment requests are submitted, in line with donors’ requirements and with the needs identified with the field operations unit. With low risk reduction.

Donor reports are, timely, accurate, complete, and compliant.

Solutions to operational issues are identified and addressed within minimal grant management and organizational reputational risk. Donors are provided with formal and informal updates on project progress and remain engaged and support of World Vision’s work.

Support Senior Program Officer in the grants acquisition work of World Vision Lebanon towards achieving the annual income target of the office

Support regular updating of donor mapping, donor engagement, and other tools to support resource acquisition at World Vision Lebanon.

Support the development of program/project proposals designs in alignment with donor requirements and ensuring that relevant information from secondary data, assessments, monitoring, evaluations and lessons learned are integrated in the proposals

Coordinate closely with WVL departments and technical specialists to ensure input is collected on the most urgent needs and current trends to help steer proposal/program design and development.

Useful and up to date tools are available to support World Vision Lebanon’s resource acquisition activities in order to establish relations between WV and new donors and stakeholders. Inputs are provided on time with a consistent and high quality

Proposal design and development is conducted through a timely and high quality manner, following World Vision best practices. Information and data are accurately channeled through efficient and effective mechanisms and coordination with diverse internal and external stakeholders is well-managed.

Ensured alignment and integration of technical approaches with operational needs contributing to enhance quality design and strategic direction for the organization.

Perform other duties as required

Attend and participate in local and international capacity building events as needed

Attend and participate in spiritual nurture events and other organizational events

Perform other related tasks as required by the External engagement team

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  1. University (Bachelor essential, Master’s preferred) degree in a field related to community development work preferably in fields such as sociology, international or political studies, humanitarian law, public health, population studies and others.
  2. Minimum two years experience working in relevant field (report writing, academic research, international non-governmental work)
  3. Knowledge of and familiarity with the Syria Crisis and its impact on Lebanon
  4. Excellent written English, with good command of spoken Arabic and English
  5. Experience in report writing, academic research, public policy, or humanitarian law
  6. Experience in working for non-for-profit organizations and the public sector (or relevant job in the private sector such as risk analyst or compliance officer)
  7. Critical thinking and analytical skills
  8. Good research skills
  9. Good interpersonal and communication skills
  10. Ability to work effectively under pressure
  11. Organization and time management skills
  12. Ability to work effectively with teams and communities
  13. Required willingness and ability to continue to function during a crisis situation, including during a World Vision response to a manmade or natural disaster
  14. Computer literate with a high degree of proficiency and productivity
  15. The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically (to diverse field locations) and internationally (as need arises) 30% of the time.
  16. Be prepared to travel to field implementation sites.
  17. This position requires willingness and ability to continue to function during a crisis situation, including during a World Vision response to a manmade or natural disaster
