Follow up Officer

Institut Européen deCoopération et de Développement (IECD) is a French non-governmental organization founded in 1988 and operating in the field of social and economic development in partnership with local institutions. IECD’s main sectors of action are vocational training and professional integration, assistance to micro and small enterprises and access to education and health for the most vulnerable.

In Lebanon, IECD has been operating in the country since 1994 and it opened a regional office in Beirut in 2007.

Semeurs d’Avenir is a Lebanese association, created in 2010, registered under the number 1905. It is the operational partner of IECD in vocational and professional training.

IECD and Semeurs d’Avenir have a combined team of about thirty members and are running ten projects since 2016.

IECD launched a new project, supported by UNDP, titled “Enhancing Youth Employability within Solar Photovoltaic Sector in Lebanon”.  UNDP has prioritized renewable energy, more specifically photovoltaic (PV), as a key sector to be supported in the coming years, with the dual benefits of a positive environmental impact as well as potential for job creation.

Project includes identifying and supporting at least 150 skilled and unskilled youth, to improve their employability through comprehensive vocational and technical training related to the sector of solar photovoltaic and followed by paid internship placements within identified local Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Through this approach, young people will get the chance to gain first-hand experience on the labour market, learn new skills and create their own employment networks; they will also be provided integrated human resource services such as job matching and career counselling.

IECD is looking for a follow up officer to monitor the internships the trainees are attending.

PROFILE

Required skills and competencies:

Arab language is compulsory

Education: University degree

Experience:

• At least 1 year, whether in the private, public sectors, or in a civil society organization
• Previous experience in monitoring and evaluation is a must,
• Experience in working in a multicultural context,

Skills:

• Fluency in Arabic and English are compulsory, French is a plus
• Good interpersonal communication skills, good representation of public and private partners
• Proficiency in Excel and Word
• Good organisational skills and handling multiple tasks.
• Has a driving license and a car

Qualities:

• Autonomous, proactive and flexible
• Ability to manage relationships with very different populations
• Strong organizational skills and interest in working in a team
• Strong interest and motivation for international solidarity and development
• Adherence to IECD values: respect of the person, always in the service of others, a professional commitment

CONDITIONS

Location: Based in Beirut – field visits over all the Lebanese territory

Work Period: June 2019 to August 2019

Package: Consultant contract, remuneration to be defined based on profile
